Madcap’s recording haven in Northern California is situated just outside downtown Nevada City at Ancient Wave Studios. Established by the late Saul Rayo, this charming oasis boasts a vintage Trident console in the control room, a spacious live room for full tracking, a vocal booth, a private outdoor patio, and a fully-equipped kitchen.
The studio also provides on-site artist lodging through Airbnb in a serene, retreat-like environment, making it an ideal place to escape and create without limitations.
Women Supporting Women in Music...
Ancient Wave is owned by Elena Rayo, therefore the partnership between a female-owned studio and a female-owned record label signifies more than just the songs — it’s a meaningful advancement for the women in music movement, where women in the industry uplift and support one another. Since Madcap Records began working at Ancient Wave, Kelly Rutledge (Madcap Founder) has now stepped in as a house engineer for the studio and can be booked for projects outside the label as well. Talk about girl power!
