Dasty Island is a Northern California band that fuses the essence of Hawaiian music with the vibrant spirit of Caribbean reggae, a distinctive island sound that creates a culture of its own.
Founded by Hawaiian songwriter Koa Young, French Caribbean dancehall vocalist Steed “Daddy Dasty,” and session bassist Tunde Milliner, the band often collaborates with a diverse group of accomplished musicians, creating an electric chemistry that has made Dasty Island a beloved act across Northern California stages.
Their debut single, "Mike's Truck" is set for release on Madcap Records August, 20th, 2026! Along with a bonus version in Sony's 360 Reality Audio format which offers listeners a truly immersive experience into their island world.
"Mike's Truck" is the first release from their new, self titled album "Dasty Island", which features original songs that weave beautifully written stories into worlds of their own. It was produced by Kelly Rutledge (Virgin, Capitol, Motown) and was recorded live at Ancient Wave Studios in Nevada City.
