Jorell Bahena, known for his charismatic stage presence and the band’s nostalgic yet modern sound, blending classic rock energy with infectious pop hooks. Since forming in 2022, Bahena has quickly built a name for themselves across Northern California through high-energy live performances and a theatrical, larger-than-life approach to the stage. In 2026, the band reached several major milestones, including winning the Nevada City Songwriter Contest with their song “Monroe,” earning a performance slot at High Sierra Music Festival, and completing a multi-date West Coast tour as direct support for Mihali of Twiddle. These accomplishments have helped establish Bahena as one of Northern California’s fastest-rising independent acts. The band has appeared on major television outlets including Good Day Sacramento, Studio40 Live, Live! in the Bay (KRON4), and Morning Break Reno, introducing their music to audiences throughout California and beyond. On stage, Bahena has performed at notable venues including The Starlet Room (Harlow’s), Goldfield Midtown, Goldfield Roseville, Felton Music Hall, Cornerstone Berkeley, Mystic Theatre, Crystal Bay Club Casino, and the Folsom Hotel Saloon. Their festival and fair appearances include High Sierra Music Festival, the California State Fair, Gold Country Fair, Amador County Fair, and Heavenly Holidays Festival in Lake Tahoe. Bahena has also shared the stage with a growing list of national and regional artists, including Mihali (Twiddle), The Ghost Club, Jonah Kagen, Mark Mackay, Ace Monroe, Red Voodoo, and Mos Patiparn. With releases like Strawberry Tattoo, Cabernet Wine, Sweet Cherry Chapstick, In 2013, Nate moved to California and continued traveling across the U.S. performing and writing. A 2014 recording session at a studio in Denver sparked his interest in production. He later returned to North Carolina, formed the band Mr. Darcy in 2015, and released the self-produced EP Love Is. The band toured nationally and released Carolina Skies in 2018. Nate relocated to Nevada City, California in 2019, where he produces music for local artists and works as a sought-after wedding DJ. Playing with bands in the local scene reignited his drive to write and perform, eventually signing a deal with Madcap Records and Madcap Publishing in 2025. He is currently recording his new album, first single is set for release fall 2026.
